Why Choose Our Studio?
I offer piano lessons at my home studio in West Newton, MA, conveniently located within a mile of Horace Mann and Franklin Elementary Schools, F.A. Day Middle School, and the Fessenden School, and just two miles from Newton North High School and Brandeis University.
Lessons are available for students aged 5 and above, from beginners to advanced musicians. Both children and adults are welcome! Younger students benefit from consistent weekly lessons and parental support in establishing a practice routine. Adult students enjoy the flexibility to accommodate school, work, or travel commitments. Lessons take place in a comfortable studio equipped with two grand pianos and a digital piano.
Grow Through Performance
Sharing music with others is an essential part of the learning process. To foster confidence and comfort in performing, the curriculum includes workshops and at least two annual recitals in addition to private lessons. Students interested in further opportunities may participate in festivals, community performances at retirement centers, and recitals or competitions hosted by the New England Piano Teachers’ Association (NEPTA) and the Massachusetts Music Teachers’ Association.
Many of my students have achieved notable successes, including prizes in competitions and festivals, performances in masterclasses with renowned teachers, participation in summer music programs, and successful college music auditions.
Our Unique Approach
Every student is unique, and my teaching approach reflects this individuality. My goal is not only to help students develop a love for playing the piano but also to cultivate well-rounded musicianship and self-expression.
The core curriculum emphasizes age-appropriate technique and repertoire tailored to each student’s needs. This foundation is enriched by ensemble playing, music theory, music history, and ear training. Students develop technical skills through exercises, scales, chords, and arpeggios and learn to analyze and interpret the pieces they play.
From the start, I focus on expressive playing, whether students are learning “Three Blind Mice” or a Three-Part Invention by Bach. I also teach practical strategies for effective practice during the critical days between lessons.

Lessons That Fit Your Life
Weekly lessons are scheduled during the academic year at a consistent time and are either 45 or 60 minutes long. Shorter lessons may be available for younger children on a case-by-case basis. Parents of children aged 7 or younger are expected to attend lessons to support their child’s progress.
Ready to Begin Your Journey?
Openings in the studio are limited, as most students remain for many years!
If you or your child are interested in lessons, please contact me to add your name to the waiting list.
Students must have an instrument at home for daily practice. While a digital piano with a full-sized, weighted keyboard is acceptable for first-year beginners, an acoustic piano is required afterward for continued progress.

-W.C., Newton MA“Sivan is patient and kind, and he knows how to structure practices for fast progress. He’s worked well with me as an older learner, and I’ve seen him interact wonderfully with kids as well. His studio…is cool and very welcoming. He gets my highest praise!”
“We are very pleased with Sivan as a teacher. He has a nice manner, and a good rapport with our son. He combines many elements of music study, including music theory and proper piano technique, into interesting and engaging lessons.”
